You ran TimeCost. The number feels personal — and sometimes you want to show it. Not a spreadsheet of expenses. Just one line: what your calendar life hour costs. That is what the share card is for.

Where to find it

After your calculation on the home page — Share your result. Same button on profile after sign-in. A popup opens with a dark 1200×630 card — same layout as social OG images. On the card:

  • your hourly cost in the active currency;
  • label “My hour of life costs”;
  • CTA “What’s yours? → timecost.live”.

The link carries only amount and currency — not housing, subscriptions, or email. Expense details stay with you.

What you can do in the popup

  • Copy link — short URL like timecost.live/share?cost=… with UTM tags;
  • Download PNG — save the image for your phone or Stories;
  • Telegram / WhatsApp / X — prefilled text “My hour of life costs €X” plus the link.

When someone opens the link, Telegram or X fetch a preview via /api/og — the same card with your number. After 1.5 seconds the page redirects to the calculator so they can run their own.

Why share at all

Three common cases:

  • Partner conversation — one number instead of “we spend too much”;
  • Social — curiosity hook: “my hour = €3, what’s yours?”;
  • Baseline — save a PNG “as of today” before budget changes.

Not financial advice and not a competition. Just another language for the same amount — see using hourly cost for everyday spending.

If the number is stale

Moved, new job, extra subscriptions — recalculate and share again. TimeCost describes your current burn rate, not last year. More complete answers → a fairer card — about calculation accuracy.
